AI should not be the whole sum of your personality. Really. I never thought I’d have to say this. Yes it can do some wonderful things. Look at it being used here to find millions of hidden objects in space.
But since the “tech bros” have started pushing AI beyond all reasonable limits, expecting chatbots to have human rights etc. etc. etc. We have two warring groups of weirdos who basically float around AI as their central meaning of life and practically their religion.
Not just the weird guys that can’t get a date and can only talk to a robot, but also the weirdos that just can’t see good uses for it in spite of good uses happening all the time. Yes, it needs to be regulated especially the chatbots and I program some for fun now and then. But the tech has proven to have dangerous interactions with people. Point blank.
The other side is the anti-AI people who go screaming like dejected Kamala Harris voters at any random person they find using AI. They’re not doing anything but making themselves out to be petty and annoying people. They are GamerGate, but without the death threats.
My biggest complaint about the anti-ai groups is that there is no cohesive organizing, goals or any kind of planned strategy. All there is is a bunch of terminally online guys screaming at something they can’t control.
