Hello all, I have a pleasant surprise for you. Photos and sounds from Tacoma. The photos are only for your viewing please. They were taken around Wright Park in the month of February 2026. The sounds are on Mixter.plus and are free to use for non-commercial projects (with credit) and can be licensed for commercial projects for a small fee.

Before we go on, if you want comprehensive information on the park and it’s features, check either of these two links. I came early, EARLY in the morning on a Sunday, so I didn’t visit the arboretum.

There are two stone guardians outside the park, I took pictures of both but frankly I like this picture better. My child commented that this looked a lot like the lions from Ghostbusters… well… right era:
In 1886 the Tacoma Land Company, under the leadership of its president, Charles B. Wright, donated a parcel of land approximately 20 acres in size to the City of Tacoma for the sole purpose of being developed as a public park. His mandate was that ‘upon condition nevertheless that said land shall forever be exclusively used as and appropriated for the uses and purposes of a public park.’ From this original 20-acre parcel the park quickly grew to its current size of 27 acres filling out 10 city blocks.
*sigh*
We don’t really have those old school “trying to look normal” rich guys anymore. Now we just got Techbros that think leather cop outfits look smashing.

La Fleur (the flower) is a classical feature of architecture. One of my favorite old symbols and I’m not alone in that. You can find these designs on notebooks, stamps, etc. Although it’s a little fuzzy, I liked the moss growing on this one.

Early in the morning Wright Park is COLD AF but is also BEAUTIFUL AF. Sometimes photos don’t convey the awe of actually being there, but this one came close. It was a nice, crisp morning let me say.

Just a nice, old school cannon with a nice turquoise tint to it. I tried to take a close up, but the morning light was making my shadow pop up in every photo.

Before I arrived at the park I took a series of dawn shots.

I love the blues in this one.

Just fire!!!
This one is available from RedBubble!

No, this one isn’t available as a print LOL. It wouldn’t make a good one anyway. But I love trains and snapping photos of them is always a plus.
