The year is 1955. America. But not the America you know.
Did you know the Emancipation Proclamation didn’t end slavery? It only ended slavery where the states were in rebellion. The thirteenth amendment? Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude… shall exist within the United States, except as a punishment for crime…
For the Southern states that insisted on keeping their boots on Black necks, there were violent options. Instigating race massacres and voting riots eventually Jim Crow consolidated Southern power. The last criminalized the existence of Black people so that they could be enslaved in prison until their deaths. Entire communities were farmed for ‘criminals’ to send away to work.
Then a breakthrough in science happened, the discovery of the double helix. Then genetic engineering. Cloning. And then finally the slavers were able to do something they always wanted to do… merge human DNA with animals.
Then things became truly ugly.
