Witches kicked off Etsy

For years, you could hire someone on Etsy to curse an evil ex, protect your home, or manifest better luck. Now, sellers who built real businesses offering spellcasting services say the platform has finally decided they’ve crossed a line, removing their shops after years of operating in plain sight.

As a Witch I do take this personally. I am on Etsy, I don’t offer spellcasting. Though I have considered it.

This one leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

What are the pros and cons of this?? I suppose from a moderation standpoint you don’t want to be called into a dispute where the dispute is over a magical item. Or a magical service. How does an Etsy rep handle that??

I’m not sure, I would expect that it would be awkward. But I can’t help but feel this is a form of discrimination.
